Talking about Yogyakarta never comes to an end. The city of Yogyakarta is a large city that maintains the concept of Javanese tradition and culture. Yogyakarta, often called Jogja, is rich in tourism, culinary delights, and culture. Not only that, Yogyakarta also cannot be separated from its arts. As proof, art activities in Yogyakarta never die. This can be seen from the abundance of art exhibitions held in various museums up to the present. Some of these art exhibitions can be destinations on weekends as well as weekdays. Visitors are very enthusiastic about coming. The visitors, namely students, children, and even older people, are very enthusiastic.

Some of the art exhibitions in Yogyakarta include, first, the Lingkar Berhala Sculpture Fine Art Exhibition. This exhibition was organised by fine art students of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta (ISI) at the Vredeburg Fort Museum Yogyakarta from Tuesday, 19 July 2022 to Sunday, 22 July 2022, specifically in Building G of the Vredeburg Fort Museum.

Second, Arts In Common-Expanding Awareness (Artjog MMXXII), which concludes the Artjog arts-in-common series that since 2019 has framed three exhibitions in a thematic triplet of space-time-awareness. This theme is understood as an effort to expand awareness in an accumulative and reciprocal way between artists and the public by reflecting on present reality, the future, and the hopes that must be realised. One of the main agendas in Expanding Awareness is to give attention to the arts that support inclusivity. This is implemented in the curatorial selection, the programmes, and the organisation of the event at large. Artjog arts-in-common is not only about art for everyone, but also about the ideal of realising a shared world. This exhibition was held from 7 July 2022 to 4 September 2022 at the Jogja National Monument.

Third, Song Art Exhibition. This exhibition takes place at Joining Art Space Pendowoharjo, Sewon, Bantul from 2 July 2022 to  2 August 2022. Third, the Sumakala Exhibition. This exhibition tells of the periods of rule of Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono III and IV. This exhibition runs from 29 October 2022 to 23 January 2023 at the Pagelaran  of the Yogyakarta Kraton.

Fourth, the Nandur Srawung Exhibition. This international-scale fine art exhibition takes place at Taman Budaya Yogyakarta from 16 October 2022 to 22 October 2022. The exhibition has the theme mayapada or matrix, which means the idea of reading a dual reality between the physical and the non-physical. Fifth, Dayabara. This exhibition takes place at Jogja National Museum from 16 September 2022 to 30 September 2022. This exhibition presents 52 works consisting of drawings and sculptures created by an artist named Aris Prabawa.

Sixth, Yogyakarta Komik Weeks. The Cultural Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta held this exhibition at Jogja National Museum (JNM) from 27 October 2022 to 5 November 2022 to revive the ecosystem of Indonesian comic enthusiasts and artists. Seventh, the Annual Museum Exhibition (AMEX). This exhibition is an  annual event held at Museum Sonobudoyo, running from 7 November 2022 to 30 December 2022. It has the theme star and moon “what the ocean brings and unites”. Those are some of the exhibitions in this City of Culture that are certainly very interesting to attend.
