Summary of PLP Activities

The 2025 School Field Practice (PLP), carried out by Faizah Afifah Anniasiyah, a student of the Chemistry Education Study Programme (NIM 22104060027) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, was successfully completed at MAN 1 Yogyakarta. The PLP ran from 10 September to 31 October 2025. It began with the deployment of the PLP students on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, at 10.00 WIB. The deployment was accompanied by the DPL and received directly by the Principal, followed by a discussion of school regulations with the Deputy Head for Curriculum.

On the second day, I observed the school environment. The orientation phase was concluded with coordination and a first meeting with the mentor teacher on Friday, 12 September 2025, to discuss preparations for teaching, the class allocation, and the teaching materials. As preparation before teaching in a real classroom, Micro Teaching was also held with the mentor teacher on Monday, 15 September 2025.

Teaching practice focused on two classes, XI G and X B. In class XI G, the topic taught was reaction rate. The first lesson was held on Tuesday, 23 September 2025. The material covered the basic concepts, the relationship with stoichiometry, the factors that affect reaction rate, the rate equation, how to determine reaction order, and a discussion of the three types of reaction order (zero, first, and second). This was concluded with a Daily Test (UH) and a review of the questions on Monday, 27 October 2025. The first lesson in class X B was held on Friday, 26 September 2025. The material focused on electron configuration, the periodic table of the elements, and the stability of elements.

During the PLP, I also took an active part in various non-academic activities at the school such as the 5S duty held every morning, library duty, and lobby duty. I also took part in the keputrian (girls’ religious session) held on Thursday, 18 September 2025. The PLP was concluded with the preparation of the activity report, followed by the withdrawal of the UIN Sunan Kalijaga PLP students from MAN 1 Yogyakarta, accompanied by the DPL, on Friday, 31 October 2025.
